Climate Change: Addressing Climate Change for Resilient Communities

Climate change poses a significant threat to food security and livelihoods, particularly in the Lake Region Counties. Our climate change initiatives aim to build resilient communities that can adapt to and mitigate the impacts of climate change through:

    Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation

PeAdvocating for and implementing solutions to mitigate and adapt to climate change. Our efforts have led to the inclusion of climate change considerations in county development plans, as seen in Vihiga County, where climate change adaptation measures have been budgeted for and operationalized.

    Sustainable Practices

Promoting agricultural practices that are resilient to climate change and reduce environmental impact. We support initiatives that enhance sustainable food production, such as the use of tractors in Siaya County to boost food production, which helps communities adapt to changing climatic conditions.

    Community Resilience

Supporting community-based projects that enhance resilience to climate change. We work with local partners and private sectors to implement projects that increase food production and improve livelihoods, ensuring that communities are better prepared to face the challenges posed by climate change.

By addressing the nexus between food systems and climate change, we aim to create resilient communities that can adapt to and mitigate the impacts of climate change, ensuring sustainable development and food security for all.
