We are a network that is duly registered with the Registrar of Societies as a not-for-profit organisation whose objective is to work across the different counties within the Lake Region Economic Block (LREB) with an aim of addressing the Right to Food as spelt out in Article 43 Section 1C of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.

Currently our membership covers 14 counties of the Lake Region with 35 Community Based Organizations, within the counties namely: Kisumu, Vihiga, Kakamega, Bungoma, Nandi, Tranzoia, Bomet, Kericho, Nyamira, Kisii, Migori, Homabay, Siaya and Busia.
We look at all aspects that can negatively impact on the Right to Adequate Food by involving ourselves in alleviating the effects of such impacts and at the same time addressing the issues that bring about the impact. Some of the areas we focus on are governance, human rights, gender issues, health system among others.
The UN Food Systems Summit that took place during the UN General Assembly in New York on September 23, 2021 sought to set the stage for global food systems transformation to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. The UN Secretary-General convened the Food Systems Summit with the aim of maximizing the co-benefits of a food systems approach across the entire 2030 Agenda and meeting the challenges of climate change. The Summit aimed to provide a platform for ambitious new actions, innovative solutions, and plans to transform food systems and leverage these shifts to deliver progress across all of the SDGs.
To ensure that every human being enjoys their right to adequate food by addressing structural causes limiting effectiveness among actors and interactions along the food value chain.
To contribute towards sustainable and equitable food system, quality health and wellbeing through partnerships, evidence-based advocacy and good governance in the Lake Region by 2029.
